Create a game-changing online version of the super-popular Who Wants to Be a Millionaire gameshow to promote the show during Sweeps Week.
SOLUTION
Making the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire game was a huge opportunity. I wanted to be sure to adapt and not just translate the game to the web. Millionaire Online had to be a product that stood tall on its own. I put a lot of thought into what would make the game rewarding, challenging, and bring players back again and again. I created a rich experience with original art, animations, video-like sequences, and audio that surpassed all expectations and drew so much traffic that ABC had to invest in new servers.
RESULTS
One of the most successful online games to date, with up to 30 million games played per month (200,000 unique visitors daily). The online game’s popularity generated greatly increased traffic and profit for ABC.com.
