As Lead Product and Interaction Designer my responsibilities included designing new products and overhauling legacy software for ServiceChannel’s integrated facilities management platform.  This included three products detailed below.

PRODUCT: FIXXBOOK








CHALLENGE

Take a legacy software platform and design a trustworthy, efficient database to bridge supply and demand between facilities managers and reputable commercial contractors.  Make it responsive.



SOLUTION

Create searchable directory for facilities managers to locate an ideal contractor for their service needs. Contractor profiles list performance reports and metrics that are calculated into a rating system to generate an overall score. The directory is a two-way network that also provides an avenue for contractors to connect with facilities managers who post contracts for work needed.



RESULT

Fixxbook is the leading commercial contractor directory with listings for over 50,000 contractors that service Fortune 500 companies.

I placed search front and center on the Homepage because Fixxbook's database of contractors is what is most valuable to the site's users. Below the search is the option to actually call a human being. Next I put a row of top clients for social proof.  Below that is a section listing popular services the contractors provide.

DETAILS

Service areas provided a challenge since they come in many shapes and sizes. For flexibility we set up the system to allow for multiple entry types including county, city, zip, area code, and neighborhood.

DETAILS

One of the challenges with setting up contractors in the database is mapping the trades they offer to each of their service areas.  In some cases contractors do not provide all services to all their locations.  The below table UI allows the contractor to specify trades for each service area.











PRODUCT: FIELD TECH MANAGER








CHALLENGE

Turn facility/property management into a streamlined operation through a seamless UX on a centralized platform.



SOLUTION

An integrated platform for workflow management that combines calendars, live site updates, vendor and contractor directories, and service dispatch. The real-time tracking system allows users to set maintenance schedules and expedite service calls from an approved contractor and vendor directory. From the point of scheduling through to work order submission, facilities managers can oversee projects with a consistent stream of status updates via a mobile app.



RESULT

FTM is an essential tool for field tech managers.

DETAILS

This screen allows a manager to access all employees and provides sophisticated filtering options and a powerful search to quickly locate the correct records. A set of tools for managing each employee is provided in the Actions column.

From the Employees tab a manager can review and edit an employee's Profile, WOs, Calendar, and Forwarding.

From the Employees tab a manager can edit an employee's shifts using intuitive tools. Advanced features such as Repeat Shift and Save as Shift Template are included.

PRODUCT: SC MOBILE








CHALLENGE

Create mobile app (iOS and Android) that takes the customer service experience and turns it into useful data to improve communication and work order tracking.



SOLUTION

Design app that integrates feedback, rating systems, alerts, maps, and a contractor database. Facilities managers can search for contractors in their immediate area and once service is completed, they can leave reviews and rate their experiences. The reviews post to the contractor’s profile in the searchable database. Service technicians also utilize the app to check in and submit work order updates to create an efficient information sharing experience between both users during service calls.



RESULT

SC Mobile is the preferred app among service technicians and facilities managers as the leading technology to see work orders through to completion.
